Participate in an online survey

http://wincollegetuition.com/

This is a satisfaction survey conducted by the government. They want you to tell them about your experience as college students. Online surveys are marketing tools. Take a look. Try it out, then tell me what you think about the survey, and how it might be applied to e-marketing.

Both Andy Kim and I (Jing Min Cao) currently in a third world country and can't post comments that I have for your question regarding the survey. My answer is.. I think this is another example of a blog that creates corporate credibility. This allows other students/parents and the government to see varies of Ontario secondary school are doing. This is a great way to approach improvements are these comments are straight from the students. Nonetheless, this also allos the governement to see the differecent age group's perspectives. Goverment can also use positive comments as a marketing tool for potential international students and of course, use the negatives as areas of improvement. from AJMCAO

And Andy's reponse to the quesion is: Helps to give feedbacks to teachers and adminstrators on their programs and the style they teach it in. School is in many ways like a business, its a service that is provided to the students which students pay for these services. The students are the customers of the end product of what school has to offer. This survey in many ways helps the school to learn what exactly the students feel about the service they are being given without them having to see anyone about it. This survey can be used in the same way to any business that offers a product or service to their clients. from Andykim29

In addition to the previous comments, I think that the prizes offered can also attract students to read and do the survey. Without these "prizes", there won't be enough data to collect from. So e-marketing also needs to consider the HOW TO when conducting a survey.

I have to laugh! I did this survey last year. It took me a long time and I remember thinking half way through I would give up because I had more important things to do. However I finished it, and I suppose it was worth it. I was one of the lucky people to win a PSP from this survey... so CERTAINLY, I will do it again! Even though the chances of me winning again are slim to none.

Kaleigh,
You bring up an excellent point. When e-marketing you might have to "reward" participation in order tempt folk to visit or complete a survey.

For e-marketers gathering data about visitors is paramount. Especially data that allows you to capture their contact information: name, email address, country of origin, gender, etc.

When we offer a visitor something in exchange for their personal information, we are, in effect, paying for the data we collect.

I found the survey to be helpful. They gave me advice based on how I had answered some of the questions and included a link to go to where I can get help directly from George Brown. It seems like they actually care about the students which is a nice change. The thought of winning money and gift certificates definitely helped too! I like giving my opinion, I'm just doubtful of the fact that the school will improve on what I think they need to.
